Château
Château Cantenac Brown
A third growth of 1855 in the Margaux appellation, in the commune of Cantenac, Cantenac Brown is the other part of the Boyd estate, split off before the classification by the Scottish painter and merchant John Lewis Brown, who built the broad Tudor-style brick mansion there. Because the split predates 1855, the brokers classified the two growths separately but at the same third-growth rank. Its wine is a Médoc blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon and filled out with Merlot, in the perfumed, fine-tannined style of the appellation.
