Château du Tertre

Margaux

A fifth growth of 1855 in the Margaux appellation, in the commune of Arsac, du Tertre is the furthest from the village of Margaux and the most isolated of the appellation's classified growths, on a single unbroken gravel knoll ringed by woods. Arsac is one of the five historic communes the appellation covers: the growth is classified under the Margaux name without standing in the commune of Margaux itself. Its wine is a Médoc blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon and filled out with Merlot, in the perfumed, fine-tannined style the appellation is known for.
