Château Ducru-Beaucaillou
A second growth of 1855 in Saint-Julien, Ducru-Beaucaillou owes the second half of its name to the beaux cailloux, the large gravel stones that cover its vineyard on the estuary's edge. Its Victorian, pavilioned house facing the Gironde is as recognisable as its wines, known for their uprightness and restraint.
