Château Dauzac

Margaux

A fifth growth of 1855 in the Margaux appellation, in the commune of Labarde, Dauzac has its place in the history of viticulture as where bouillie bordelaise — Bordeaux mixture, copper sulphate and lime — was developed around 1885, the treatment that brought downy mildew under control across Europe. Labarde is one of the five historic communes covered by the Margaux appellation, which reaches well beyond the commune it is named after. The wine is a Médoc blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon and filled out with Merlot, in the perfumed, fine-tannined style of the appellation.
