Château Mouton Rothschild
Classified a second growth in 1855 and promoted to first growth in June 1973, after a campaign of more than twenty years led by Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Mouton Rothschild is the only château whose rank has changed since the list was drawn up. It was also the first great growth to bottle its own wine at the estate, from 1924, and has commissioned a different artist's label every year since 1945.
