Château
Château Romer du Hayot
A second growth of 1855 in Sauternes, in the commune of Fargues, Romer du Hayot is one of the two parts of the Romer estate, classified undivided in 1855 and then split among heirs in the twentieth century; the du Hayot share is the larger. Both growths born of that split have since carried the same second-growth rank, which attaches to the name of the original estate rather than to any plot of land. The wine is a sweet white from Sémillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle, picked in successive passes through botrytised fruit, as everywhere in the appellation.
