"Alsace grand cru Ollwiller" is one of the fifty-one "Alsace grand cru" appellations, in the commune of Wuenheim (Haut-Rhin), recognised in 1983. The soils, formed from conglomerate and marl, range from sandy-clay to clay, and are much sandier on the colluvium; the mesoclimate, notably dry, owes its low rainfall (450 mm a year) to shelter from the Freundstein and the Vieil-Armand.
