"Alsace grand cru Praelatenberg" is one of the fifty-one "Alsace grand cru" appellations, in the commune of Kintzheim (Bas-Rhin), recognised in 1992. This site is set apart by its metamorphic rock, unique in the Alsace vineyard: gneiss gives a light, deep, silica-rich soil that lets roots establish quickly and favours drainage and warming at depth.
