"Alsace grand cru Rosacker" is one of the fifty-one "Alsace grand cru" appellations, in the commune of Hunawihr (Haut-Rhin), recognised in 1983. Backing onto the Vosges massif, the site has a dry, cool, shaded mesoclimate favouring slow, even ripening; its deep, potassium-poor shelly Muschelkalk limestone soil preserves a large amount of tartaric acid.
