"Alsace grand cru Winzenberg" is one of the fifty-one "Alsace grand cru" appellations, in the commune of Blienschwiller (Bas-Rhin), recognised in 1992. On a steep, south-east-facing slope, the vines grow on a shallow soil where two-mica granite breaks the surface in places — a soil that warms quickly but is drought-prone and demands strict yield control.
