"Alsace grand cru Pfersigberg" is one of the fifty-one "Alsace grand cru" appellations, in the communes of Eguisheim and Wettolsheim (Haut-Rhin), recognised in 1992. Spread over three slopes, the marl-limestone-sandstone soil sits on a hard limestone base covered with pebbles of varied origin; sheltered from oceanic influences by the screen of the Vosges and its forests, the site reaches high ripeness easily.
