"Alsace grand cru Wiebelsberg" is one of the fifty-one "Alsace grand cru" appellations, in the commune of Andlau (Bas-Rhin), recognised in 1983. A geology of sandstone alone — Vosges sandstone — sets this site apart; the soils nonetheless supply water well, and the steep slope makes it a warm, sun-drenched site.
