The southernmost Beaujolais cru, on six communes of the Rhône around Mont Brouilly, a small mountain detached from the Monts du Beaujolais and topped by a chapel. Granite to the west, porphyry to the south and clay-silica spreads to the east give, according to the specification, supple, fleshy and fine wines, fruitier on granite, deeper in colour and longer-lived on the schist of the centre. The interprofession counts about 1,200 hectares.
