"Alsace grand cru Mambourg" is one of the fifty-one "Alsace grand cru" appellations, in the commune of Kaysersberg Vignoble (Haut-Rhin), recognised in 1983. Where the Kaysersberg valley opens out, on one of the slopes reaching furthest into the plain, this early-ripening site has a narrow temperature range and maximum sun exposure; its calcium-magnesium soils, formed from Oligocene limestone conglomerate and marl, allow deep rooting.
